None of the jobs are hard to do or beyond my ability.  Going to try a few other things with the head but already have a Plan B in the mail thanks to this forum.  For the re-bore I think it only takes a small plastic bottle, some emery cloth and oil.   LOL.  Remember that outcry?

No problem. In the past i`ve had luck using wet & dry sand paper on a granite surface plate. Shouldn't take too long.

Alternatively, if you can find a feeler gauge that thick you can trim it down to shim size and run with that.

I went deep into research a while back trying to figure out a way to manufacture these and valve shims in my little machine shop but turned out to be very difficult.
