Looking for a 1.6L TD in PDX
« on: November 20, 2012, 12:25:11 pm »
Looking for a 1.6L TD short block or long block in the Pacific NW.  OR specifically.  Don't need any of the accessories just a known good long or short block.

Anybody know of anything?

Thanks.

This is to replace a Vanagon JX short block.  Pretty sure the JX has oil squirters hence the search for a TD.  I'll keep yours in mind though.  Thanks.

The JX wasn't available here in NA. It was turbo charged.

Yes, I realize the JX was never offered here.  The person who I'm helping look for an engine has one imported from EU.  Apparently it's ingested water is seized, rather than rebuilding he's looking at sourcing a shortblock.

are you pulling my leg or something?   ??? ;D The person who I'm helping HAS a JX that needs to be rebuilt.  He's looking for a more economical solution- read that a TD short block.  His cylinder head from the JX is fine.  Purchase a good short block and then bolt all the goodies from HIS JX and he's good to go.
