1986 volkswagon jetta for sale. Very rare and awesome car. Gets anywhere from 40 to 50 mpg depending on how its tuned and how you drive. Made it from Napa Valley to monteray on one tank of fuel a few months back. It has a fresh 1.6 N/A diesel engine (Actually closer to 1.7 with oversized pistons) Engine was completely rebuilt in august. Every seal, o-ring and gasket on the engine is brand new. Brand new rings, main bearings, rod bearings and intermediate shaft bearings. The injection pump has also been fully rebuilt and has a modified governer for increased performance. The head is fully rebuilt and it has hydraulic valve lifters so they never need to be adjusted. Brand new water pump, alternator and starter. Brand new hoses. Brand new motor mounts. Brand new battery. New glowplugs and heavy duty glowplug relay. Port matched intake and exhaust manifolds. Mk3 dual outlet manifold and downpipe. K&N air filter and custom 2 1/4 inch exhaust done by Ed Hanson. Full racing suspension, Bilstein HD shocks and struts, Neuspeed racing springs, front and rear autotech swaybars, neuspeed strut brace, new R32 control arm bushings and new ball joints. I think its about time that it goes to a home that will show it the love it deserves. CHE 020 transmission out of a mk3. Neuspeed short shifter and weighted shiftrod. All new shift bushings. New sachs 16v 210mm clutch kit, resurfaced and lightened flywheel, new throwout bearing, new clutch cable. It has slotted and drilled GTI rotors and new pads in front but will need a rear drum service soon. Also needs a brake flush. It has the GTI snowflake wheels but will need new tires soon
I came around a blind corner and I had to swerve and drive over some pretty tough terrain to avoid colliding into a truck recently. The only thing that got damaged was that the thrust plate for the clutch managed to come loose and the clutch would not fully disengage (don't ask me how the heck that can happen!). My ex took the tranny back out to put a new thrust plate in but it turned out to be a problem with the pressure plate. He is a VW guru but I refuse to take advantage of his kindness, as I cannot pay him for his services, nor can I afford ANOTHER clutch kit. He is pretty upset that I am selling it, but then again, he is in no position to buy it for himself. There was no damage to the suspension, subframe or body in this little escapade. There is nothing wrong with the transmission itself.
This car needs a little TLC on the interior but it isn't anything you can't do at the junkyard with a light budget. Do to the fact that this is practically a BRAND NEW engine with less than 5000 miles on it, and do to the caliber of the suspension, I am asking $2250 FIRM. Alex 619 456 7775
