chewed up oil pump tab in the power brake booster hole
« on: February 22, 2006, 05:46:16 pm »
well just had my power brake booster out in my 88TD jetta and found the tab that connects the booster to the oil pump drive is very chewed up looking.  The booster also is all chewed up where it connects to this tab.  So, I am wondering, is this tab directly connected to the oil pump, ie if I take out the pump, will there be a hole where the tab is now?  If not, is it hard to replace?  Anyone ever had this problem?  How long till the tab breaks off and I lose oil pressure?
