Slight update... there isnt much.
Put a new rear main seal in and vr6 pressure plate and friction disc in. Swapped the serp belt setup to a vbelt so i didn't have to change my ac stuff. Its all ready to set in the car now and start hooking stuff up to it.
In other news i traded putting in a radiator in a mk4 for a dirt bike, been playing with that here and there. And i traded my mk2 16vt for a lifted jeep cherokee prerunner. Maybe not the best trade, but i think it will sell for more than the the gti will. And its fun to play with too. Got all of my stuff in to finish up my vr6 rabbit and my TD coupe is now getting taped up to paint. Its been at the body shop for like 6 months now... long story.
the swap is al done now. down to wiring bugs. when I turn the key on none of the instrument cluster lights come on. the ecu doesnt recieve power. if I jumper the ecu relay I can read it with vag com. any ideas on where my power bug may be?
missing jumper on back of fuse box... its a black one...
where does it come from and go to?
back of fuse box
really dude... if i knew off top of head id tell... but knowing your issue.. thats what you missed... your asking what jumper confirms...
look thrutdi club on the swap.. its spoken of in it.. been 5 years...
well if i did not make same mistake..... just too many pins to rember where to jump i.. and like i said there.. it was printed out for me in a stack of paper... so never knew what thread..
but 1 silly wire causes great pains..
And thats why the internet is great. Thanks for the help. I'll have ben buy you a beer
im all done except for putting the dash back in, putting the seats back in and putting the fuel sender in. mine was all rusted and gummed up so i need to find a new one if anyone has a b3 or b4 wagon fuel level sender laying around.
dash is back in and interior is almost done. coilovers are on as well are new wheels that i don't think i like. I've got a weird problem now where when i turn on the headlights the instrument cluster powers up as well does the ecu. guess its time to troubleshoot that next. but i'm going to drive it first even if it is just down the road.
