They are not side specific! R will fit L and vice-versa!
I am pretty sure they are not. I am not sure what Euro is but I have had both the aero and rounds and both were side specific. Unless you were thinking he just needed the bulb or there are ones that are interchangable that I haven't had.
Don't need the bulb. Need the housing. Water was in housing and killed bulb inside.
aero housings are L and R specific..
ive got one btw.. its JUST the housing.. none of the hardware or bracketry, but yours should fit just fine.
Thanks, Brother. I'm looking for a quad radiator support and try and go that way, but in the meantime I need to seal that light till the new one comes.
Shame I don't have enough time to head up ur way for a beer on me. Making a right at Sacremento. Maybe next year.
Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy.
im only like, oh, 6 hours from Sac... lol.
and im on the same page as you.. looking for a roundie setup, but i never can find them.. looks like i will prolly end up buying new parts..
"Only" 6 hours? lol. Of course, all that driving whats another 6? lol. Maybe I'll check my time schedule and zip on up. But if not , definitely next year. My friends do not have faith in Mk2's like the group here. They think I'm nuts driving a 23 yr old car 8,000 miles across and back. With a new engine by Scott, and much work done by a TDI guru, I am VERY confident it will be ok. Just need ppl to leave phone numbers along my route JUST in case....lol
Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy.
I have UTMOST trust in my mk2s..
the diesel, having mexican electricals kinda sucks every once in a while, but with the car thief's tool kit (jumper wires, starter button, that sort of thing) i can keep it going..
my 86 GTI, ive driven it for 3+ years now without a single issue that was not related to fuel quality, or water in fuel..
Mechanical fuel injection ROCKS!!!
and i was being sarcastic about the 6 hours from sac to here.. its more like 9 hours. its 6 hours if you are cracked out on rockstar going way faster than the speed limit.. lol.
Well, most guys on here can fix almost anything so trust is not really a factor when you're 800 miles from home.....lol. Going it alone with no skills (but a tool kit), now thats guts. After the issues being taken care of, the car rocks. Still have to get re-adjusted to the 0-60 time of 7 hours and 23 minutes, but once up to speed it holds up great. Haven't had time to open up the air intake, which no doubt will improve it some with the Giles IP, but won't break any speed records. But mileage has improved considerably, and I tend to think once more air is let in, it should get better. A/C works great for the southern route, but in talking with Tyler, the foam insulation has crapped out for the heat. Any help along the way may get you beer.... lol
The car will warm up over time and be comfortable, but that first 20 minutes or so it can be annoying. So the Northern route home may not be a pleasureable experience (but you guys know that). But with the Recaros, it is a blast to drive, and I am glad I not only kept it, but had the work done by people on and off this site. I don't make excuses, but I have tried to fix things, just isn't me, so this car is like a boat
. So while they may be things on here I don't follow too well (the turbo knowledge here is French to me!), the knowledge, builds, cars and friendships on here makes this one of the best sites for the Mk2, and look forward to the posts every day.
So I will try and seal the beam this week with silicone (any suggestions?), dry it out and put a new bulb in. 10/25 I am heading to the East coast of Florida, then west via Texas and LA/SD. 9 hours from Sacramento, I think i may have to wait till next year, when I do Rt-66, the PCH and zip home via the Trans-Canada Highway. Hell, maybe do it in the Mk2 as well. Though the Canadian Rockies may be a challenge...
Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy.
i would say the heater foam is kaput..
take the center vent out of your dash, and have a look into your heater box, you can see the blend door once you pop that big center vent out..
my car needs foam, i was kindly reminded last night, as it was 40* and i had nothing but luke-warm air coming from my vents!
