Introducing myself
« on: September 22, 2012, 05:23:31 am »
Hi,
My name is Marcos, I am wrintting from the Canary Islands.

I am very happy to have found this forum.
I am very familiar with aircooled VW but have recently bought an 84 Passat TD (Quantum in America). Since this is my first rebuilt of a diesel watercooled I was plenty of questions... but using the seach tool I found the answer to 95% of them  :)

I am surprised by the ammount of knowledge stored in this forum...  ;D ;D ;D

I want more people like you to join. You wouldn't think so but just the ability for new members to find the search function is not a common thing.
Welcome aboard searcher.

I'm sure you could find one easily enough.  Quantums aren't exactly rare.

this part of the country, they are..

last quantum TD i saw was blown up, and in idaho..

quantums themselves are NOT rare, but TD ones are..

on the west coast, TD anything is RARE..

GRRRRR!! there happens to be an ocean in between us!

otherwise i would trade you in a HEART BEAT..

if i dont end up trading the Audi for a sweet TD, then im gonna convert it to TD.. i would love to have an Audi GTD.. but would rather have a Passat..

is your car a 1.6TD powered car? or did it come with the 2.0L TD5?

Welcome to the board! I'm fairly new myself but I have to say my initial impression was similar to yours! So much knowledge just waiting to be found.

Anyway do you have any pictures of your car? It would be great to see an early passat!
