« on: August 01, 2012, 07:51:41 am »
just did a lot of work on my 91 golf 1.6 n/a. new inner outer tie rods, control arms, breaks front and rear, timing belt...ect lots of parts. i finaly got it running again after a month of put parts on it and now i have no power steering. the strange thing is there is no leaks and it is not winning, no noises at all just really hard to steer. any one have any suggestion? it worked fine befor i did all the work.

yup belt is tight. was lots of fuid. i let the return line off and started the car, fluid did not gush out just the same amount of pressure as when i let the hose go. and the pump didn't start winning either. i guess it most be the pump. this is the first time i seen a pump just stop working.

Thankfully they are so easy to come by, change and find. Same pump was used on literally ever Mk1-2-3 with power steering.

I'm pretty sure the mk3 has different fittings. It's one of those problem areas when installing an AAZ in a mk2
