So, I did not double check the lower thrust washers on both sides and installed main bearing caps.  breaking #3 as it was pressing into the improperly installed lower thrust washer.

So now the question.... What cars use a non-integrated thrust washer?  Will any non diesel cap work?
From reading, I assume any water-cooled from 1980 and on has reliefs cut into the main cap?
I have a 1.6 L gas block with integrated bearings and no reliefs cut into the cap.  pick-n-pull might be my answer, but do not want to open up half a dozen oil pans till I find the right one.

Also, I damaged the lower thrust washer, so I need a replacement as well.  Any place that sells them for less that $30?  Found them at parts place inc, reliable source, but they could be less expensive.

Thanks in advance. This site has been a tremendous help over the years with my little rabbit.

Not sure on what year main caps will interchange, but when you find the correct one the block needs to align bored.
