have two mitsubishi turbo diesel engines that came out of 86 Ford ranger pickups. one is in a box, one is assembled. neither has a good turbo. the one that's in pieces looks like it needs a rebore, don't know about the one that's together but would be willing to part it if someones needs anything. if anyone could use anything just ask, or please pass this info along. thanks.

Do you think they would fabricate to a Chevy Luv? My son is coming home this summer from Idaho and is looking for a diesel that will go in there. So far everything he has looked at Chevy wise is junk. If I could get them here he could take them later.

they'd go right into a ranger that's for sure. aren't there plenty of them out there grazing in the meadows?

they bolt right into rangers and mitsubishi mighty max pickups..
if you want a diesel for a luv, then get a 2.2 isuzu..
not trying to kill your sale, just mentioning what it fits.
i think the mitsu engine would be better than an isuzu tho, but far from bolt in..
the mitsu engines have bosch VE style pumps, do they not?

yes chevy luv used Izuzu motors. the pumps on these motors look like a bosch pump but they say nippon denso on them.

i believe they were licensed to use the bosch design. im basically positive that they are almost identical pumps..

no, i do not believe so, not directly atleast. i think you still need a proper bell housing. i dont 100% remember if those trannies have a removable bell or not.. i
think they are integral to the case, iirc..
but, there is nothing stopping you from getting a mitsu 2wd mighty max TD trans, and installing that in the starion (should bolt in) and then bolt the 2.3TD up to that..

the trans used in a ranger with this engine is mitsubishi as well, the bellhousing is removable. it only fits the diesel engine, ford used the same trans with their 4 and 6 cyl gas engines. I have a bellhousing but it has a crack in it, but it can be welded ( I think).

if you scroll down on that page it lists the tremec trans as one that's adapted to rangers. must be a better design than the others. ?
