I don't know if any local machine shop does head surface abrading; I guess I'll ask around.

On the precup removal...

My machinist now says that if they come right out he will not take them out. He thinks if they are in there good, don't piss with them. I tend to agree. He doesn't fly cut his heads he abrades them down, so no worries about protruding cups etc as the arguement has been.

Who's your machinist?  Everyone I mention abrading head surfaces to around here gives me a funny look; does he take mail-ins?

And Chris, do you think the pitted areas of the jackets could be welded up and abraded with the rest of the head surface?
