If you make it to Ohio I have all of those parts. You would have to pull them, but  I think you have a bit of a drive to get there.

Brax Europarts is in Divide, Montana (right on the Idaho border).  Great guy to deal with.

i appreciate it all! and i got that but promptly deleted it on accident...
i've continued on to bozeman and will be heading generally east, probably through ohio eventually. we did find parts in KC, MO but that's a little out of the way.

will be hitting the dakotas & MN briefly before stopping in IA for a couple of days. staying in Bozeman through saturday AM.

i appreciate any leads along the way!

My car apparently spent part of it's life in Montana and was owned by a guy that worked at Brax VW and has parts on it that came from that shop.

It's funny how small the world can be.

Will you be using Interstate 90 through central South Dakota?
Or are you going to stay in North Dakota to cross......there's a hell of a big difference.

A friend in Rapid City might have these items. Not sure. If it was Mk. II stuff I would have you covered.
Let me know soon. I can contact him to see.
The mask and the shot(s) are actually an IQ test. If you are wearing or circulating, you just failed the test. I can't feel sorry for you.

Let me know soon as I am going to have the engine pulled this week and then it is ready to scrap. I will keep the rad regardless, but the hood and probably whatever else will go unless you say something.

i'm not sure on the route - it's pretty open at the moment. will leave from Bozeman toward ND, then cross into SD, jump into MN wherever convenient as I check states off my list. I'll probably be on I-35 in IA at some point as I make my way to Polk City for a couple nights

Either way the car is going to get scrapped. Decent silver paint*if I remember right* on an 83 GTI hood. If you want it let me know, I will let it go for cheap, depending that is comes off easily...I should have it off this weekend. If you don't let me know it will be scrap. I also have the 99% perfect grill for the squares that is good too.

Again, just let me know.

Look for the intersection of State route 3 and state route 226 and that will get you close enough to me. I can meet you a few miles from there if needed. I paid 40.00 + shipping from ilikevwdiesel 4 years ago for the grill piece without the VW logo, I was going to let you have the hood, grille with VW logo, rad, core support, and what not for 120.00 or so, more if the core support was by my hand and a pest. If you just want the grill I would do 40.00

All parts are pulled and ready to go except the core support if you want them.
