Ok so i searched this topic with little information found.Just to clarify.

Ok so i just got my engine that i threw into my car running, I had to swap out the pump. Ok so new symptoms that are occurring would like to make sure i dont destroy the engine before i accually get to run it.
#1. So the engine gets HOT. Now i do know that there is a series of mini explosion going on inside there

but it is getting hot everywhere. the valve cover, intake manifold, ect. in a very short time ran for 20mins and within that time it got hot and i was just running it at an idle. Very concerning to me. The engine that was in the car before the swap was a N/A and i could run it for hours and be able to touch the valve cover no issue. What could this be? Now on the temp gauge its fine. I just dont want to damage anything.
#2. Clutch doesnt want to fully dis-engage?? this is not the biggest deal to me i can figure that out, with little worry.. Would be nice if someone had a little good advice. So i can't get into gears with engine running, But if started in gear and clutch all the way in it doesnt want to pull away until clutch is released?
Thanks
1) I sure can't put my hand on any of my valve covers once the engine has run and is up to temp. Perhaps with multiple beers in my gutt. But then, I would have to deal with the bilsters on my hand.
2) Did you put any lube (like a very light/trace amount of cv joint grease) on your input splines of the transmission prior to assembly? Dry shaft=sticky clutch.
thank you for input!
then i have a dry shaft

Do i have to pop of the trans and re-do it?
