Just wondering if I'm going to have a meltdown. When I put the new diesel engine into the GTI, I used the complete stock exhaust system, from the exhaust manifold back. The original gas engine had a catalytic converter, so it's still in there. I've been thinking eventually I should hollow it out just to make sure it doesn't get plugged and impede the exhaust flow, but in the mean time, what do you think might happen? I've driven about 50 miles so far, with no ill effects I can see (running 100% biodiesel, so it doesn't have any sulfer going through it yet).

It should be OK,as most newer diesels use convertors.Eventually it may plug up with soot.

I'd remove it,as it will give you a small boost in performance,and prevent you from having problems with it in the future.

Diesels & gassers use different catalytic media, they are not interchangeable.
Personally I'd gut it.
At least keep track of how the car runs, and if it starts to degrade, treat the cat as the first suspect.

Either remove it or gut it. I had the stock converter on my ECO and once I added the "spaceship" to my IP and had that extra fueling going into my engine the cat started to clog. With in I would say 1000 miles I could tell a performance difference. Once I took the cat off it was like a whole new vehicle with propane, NOS added to it.
