Rabbit pedal cluster ..... Help !
« on: May 16, 2012, 10:20:14 am »
I know, "here it goes with the pedal clusters again"
Surely someone, in all the years of Rabbit production and racing, has produced a more substantial pedal cluster for these old Rabbits??? I have a heavy clutch due to the torque of my AAZ diesel, and have reinforced the cable tube once, but the big ACT clutch is just too much for this thin metal structure. Someone else must have had this problem and come up with a creative solution ??? Help me please !

I took a big hex key and welded it to the column and where the sheet metal tab is that holds the clutch cable. Worked flawlessly for years until I sold it.

I'd contact these guys:

http://tiltonracing.com

They're pretty much tops in pedal boxes and should be able to sort something out for you.

Otherwise maybe get another assembly from the junkyard and reenforce/gusset the hell out of it and add a couple more bolts to the firewall?

Have you considered going to an 02A transmission?? Hydro would be very very nice. You wouldn't even feel you had a big clutch in there.
