mah jetta
« on: May 13, 2012, 06:36:01 pm »

so i have terrible luck with cars it seems, after my first car was wrecked by a moving truck that failed to yeild. after that i bought a new golf shell and got that running. it was on the road for all of 2 weeks until the right ball joint let go and ruined the underside of the car. 3rd times the charm with this one i hope.

picked it up in enfield and towed it home.
when i got it, it was a gas 8v with an automatic trans and power steering. i have so far swapped all my diesel gear in, and swapped it over to 5-speed. while i was at it i put my old manual steering rack in with new tie rods and ends.

its almost there. waiting on an oil pan baffle to arrive to fit the oil pan and fill it with oil before starting it for the first time. right now we are in the middle of doing the rear brakes.

when i first got it(and after i put my coilovers on it)

day two

quite the height difference between the jetta and the neighbors subie

mid bay shave (gotta fix up that booster eventually)

new front axles
new front ball joints
new brakes/rotors
new tie rods and ends
new rear shoes and hardware
new rear drums
new e-brake cables
new glow plug fuse
new speedo cable and gear
new rear wheels bearings and one front

this one should work nice

fancy 2 1/2" down pipe i fabbed up

Don't you have safety inspections out there?

Nice looking car.
