wanted: ford ranger diesel info

I know this is not the place but it's the only diesel forum I'm a member of so...

anyone here have any knowledge/experience on the mid 80's ford ranger diesel pickups? have a chance to get a mitsubishi 2.3 TD engine from a ranger pickup, wondering about installing it in an 85 ranger V6 5spd 4x4. don't have a parts truck just the engine with the mounts, clutch and accessories/belt/pulleys. anyone? thanks!

Yeah, another member has some of them.

I've seen them in person but I have no personal experience with their reliability... they seem like a similar concept to what we're driving, OHC, aluminum head, iron block, similar injection pump... 4D55 engine, came in Mitsubishi (obvious) and Dodge Ram 50 (Mitsubishi) trucks of that vintage. I would say that the Ranger is the better platform as far as the vehicle.
