quality of Diesel between Canada, and the USA

Hi,
pretty random inquiry, but seeing is how fuel in general is cheaper in the United States it leads me to question the quality of the diesel south of the border.
I have a nexus card and live a 30 minute drive from the Washington state border, so crossing there is as easy as flashing my card, and telling the border patrol my intentions. No waiting in a 45-60 minute line up at a busy crossing.
I do know that the busier the station the better chance of having fuel cycle through quickly resulting in generally cleaner fuel.
But is there a big difference in actual quality between refinement of Canadian diesel, and American?

The main reason we pay more for fuel in Canada is because it is taxed higher here (surprise surprise). I'm willing to bet there is little to no difference between the diesel in Vancouver and Washington state. I wouldn't be surprised if it came from the same refinery.

I wouldn't be surprised either, down here in the states apparently we'd rather go bankrupt than raise taxes on anything, so our goods are cheap and our unemployment rate high.

we'd rather bend over and let our politicians waste our money on companies that are going to fail anyways and foreign wars in countries that have nothing to do with us. why raise taxes they can't manage the money they already get. and then the one group that stands up holds all the over paid ceos, unconstitutional bail outs, and crooked politicians accountable for the crazy(illegal) stuff they've done gets publicly ridiculed and shut down(occupy movement.) but thats just my .02 political rant that has nothing to do with diesel fuel

Yeah I shouldn't be too political but I feel the government needs to die. Reboot it to 1776 and start again.
I should say from here on out we should try to not make posts like ^... try to keep on target here.

Considering that we don't refine our own oil, but ship the raw product to the U.S. and then buy back the refined product, I wouldn't think Canadian fuel has any qualitative difference.

Depends on where in the country you live in.
I live up a hill from a Chevron Refinery, and I have friends that are employees of that refinery. They don't get discounts on fuel, but then again they aren't in the engineering process of the fuel.
This refinery trucks fuel to the areas of vancouver. It's still at a minimum of 20-25 cent's more per liter in Vancouver than it is in Blaine Washington.

While in Canada {great country, but they talk funny..
}, I did not notice any difference in diesel but price.
And I'll second your reboot to 1776. We need a third party of blue collar workers. Because right now, all politicians suck.
Loved the drive from Niagara to NY via Toronto and Montreal.

I second the reboot to 1776. Lets bring back slavery, debters prisons, the stocks, capital punishment for witchcraft, and get back where only rich, white, protestant men could vote. Who needs toilet paper or penicillin? Antibiotics or anesthesia? Only wimps.

I guess you miss the point. Government was a little more honest then than it is today, as far as we know. And the Salem witch trials were in the 1600's.
