Hey chaps, I decided to do the governor mo at the weekend, everything went fine but now I have the revs hanging when I let off from WOT. I made the mistake of not marking the throttle lever so I had to mess around getting it back in the right position which I think I've now done but if I wind in the max fuel any more than it is, it hangs a lot more,
Anyone got any thoughts on what I've done wrong?
i think u just gotta turn max fueling down a bit, or move the shaft a spline or 2, ur getting more fuel up top now so its hanging.
When I turn the fuel up on my 1.9td (no gov mod) it hangs too, soo its normal? :p

yup, if you only turn up the fuel, and dont move the throttle lever..
So are you saying I have my throttle shaft on the wrong spline? Is it possible that the way I have it set right now is allowing the shaft to move more than WOT?
One thing I've noticed is that since doing the governor mod I'm only peaking at 20psi whereas before I was seeing 26 psi, I have a K24 on a 1.9 Td with gtd pump and injectors.
Result! I think I fixed it! I moved the throttle lever 2 splines anti clockwise and I now have my idle back where it was and not a hint of a hang at WOT. Seem to be getting 25 psi reliably now
The governor mod is something I wish I did a long time ago! Now my polo goes like stink!
Im running the car at Santa pod raceway RWYB on Friday so I'll post some vids (girlfriend will be filming for me!)

Agreed. I had a mild shimming (3mm) and it ran and wound out great.
I got greedy, wanted more fuel, so i jumped a few splines CCW to get the idle down. I also reshimmed to 7mm. The idle hang was incredibly severe.... I thought the engine was going to run away. I thought having too many shims was causing my issue and kept jumping splines looking for a solution.
I ended up going back to a 3mm shimming and had the same issue. Returned the throttle arm to the original position, backed off the fuel and it went back to being perfect. A lot of wasted effort.
Question I have now is, with the throttle arm at the present setting and no more fuel being added, will I feel a difference going to the 7mm shimming?
