head gasket was on upside down. thanks for the info guys. had NO idea that aftermarket gaskets wouldnt be the same as factory. Guess i should have inspected it closer before installing. Waiting for a new head gasket (will be here tomorrow) because im paranoid when it comes to reusing them. I think i'll be alright when it comes to the bolts as I never got to the final torque specs of them.
