Id love to pick it up for $500, thats a big difference.  that means the tires and camper shell are a good portion of the truck ;) even $600 would be fine, but $8 plus seems steep.

my opinions on things like this is simple...

buy... sell at same cost... OR find a buyer willing to PAY YOU to rebuild for them... but to think you can rebuild/resell for a profit.. not happening now a days..

10-15 years ago... 300$ truck.. rebuild.. so on.. yep you could make some coin... now.. 1k truck.. good used diesel set up dipped in gold 1500... add in brakes.. tires so on... you got a easily 3000 truck.. bEFORE your time..

that's a pretty poor comparison. totally different areas of the country with different population densities and economic activity. Not to mention that truck in Portland is junk and anyone who'd pay 500 for that would be a fool.

LOL... honestly if the 1k one is as cleanas the pics make it look to be... its wortht he price due to lack of body work/rot... BUT it looks like the floors are up to the mud level.. that would worry me as they rot due to moisture from sittin in the mud...

I wouldn't have even considered the one I put out there.  Just thought it was fun to see what some want 500 dollars for around here.  Sometimes it is the opposite and you can get the deal of a lifetime. 

The original one posted looked pretty good to me, very workable.  I have been replacing parts on my 81 and it barely looks as good as that one.
