I searched and found nothing concrete.
I need a new crank bolt for a 1.6 NA, CR engine. I did read that many folks are using a later stretch type, 12 point bolt, however, there were no part #'s, and all the threads were old, when the dealer still had parts available.
is the bolt M12X45? or is it M14X45?
I'm running an ABF serp set, and I would like to replace the crank bolt. The bolt came loose turning the motor over by hand. The motor has since been re-built, and I don't want to re-use, the re-usable 6 point bolt that is currently in place.
Any part numbers, resources, etc would be appreciated. Sorry for the potentially redundant request.
I did find this link in a previous thread on this topic - but the site gives no description.

No one has replaced a crank bolt after a re-build? I don't want to re-use my old bolt with a serp set up.
I recently bought one of these for my 1.6TD after replacing the front main seal from the dealer for like 5 bucks.
Part number # N-905-771-01
It was a nice OEM quality 12 point, 12.9 grade bolt.

Awesome - thanks for the PN. I'll definitely look into it. I've spoken with 2 parts people and neither of them have been much help.

Unfortunately GAP does not sell the right bolt. They also suggest that you -do not- run an 8V gasser bolt (which they do have)
The new stretch type bolt for IIRC the AHU and ALH is a perfect retro fit. I think the newest ones are bigger diameter, but I think the alh is still ok for the 1.6.
