Would you mind posting a picture? I can't picture it.

Also I am using a mki alternator bracket... is that going to ruin my good time?

no, it works fine. the engine in my Jetta has mk2 power steering, and a mk1 alternator and bracket..

i used the mk2 power steering pump and bracket, the mk2 16v power steering pulley, the 8v power steering crank pulley, and it all fit n lined up on my diesel..

do you want a pic of my stock mount, or the one i modified to work on my diesel w/ mk1 accessories?

I guess I would like both pics if possible. I don't really want to take my mki bracket out. I really hate draining and refilling my coolant.

Here's a pic of my MK2 diesel with AC brackets (ignore the oil cooler)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think you will also need this other piece that bolts on the PS pump:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Really 3 brackets you'll need if all you have is the pump and lines / etc.
Don't forget all the bolts and tensioner hardware either.

Shows where the "arm" piece bolts up on hte back of the block behind the crank pulley...

Main bracket bolted up:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MK2 AC / Alternator brackets with tensioner:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All gone!  ;D

Sigh.
I have everything but...
Part of the piece that is attached to my pump is broken.
One of the bolts is sheared off... ::)
It's such a pain in the ass.
I need to see ROR's set up. If it's as he claims and somehow allows me to safely
use the MKI alt bracket and still retain power steering then I will be thrilled.

mk1 alt sits where its supposed to..

mk2 power steering pump sits where its supposed to..

might be just because i trimmed the bracket..

Well then... it makes sense. I mean it was working fine before it exploded. But I had it ghetto rigged. What do you do about the part of the power steering bracket that is closest to the alt bracket?

Edit: Question in regards to the part circled in black.
I need a new "maroon squiggle circle" as part of it is broken and the arrows point to where the bolts sheared off and are stuck in the pump housing.
So.... There you have it...
