89 golf 1.8 digi, 1.6 na in pieces in the shop
im located in florence oregon.

Ok, I need a small handfull of parts, I picked up a small project to get back into a diesel, been out of it since 09.

I have a motor I picked up, was recently rebuilt, someone tried to replace the pump and I dont think they re-timed the cam. then they tore it down completely and broke some stuff and lost some stuff, pistons say I need three valves, they are three groove mechanical lifters. I also need a jack shaft (will the 8v gas jack shaft work?) I need bolts for either the jack shaft sprocket or the crank, dont know which I need.  Also, I might be looking for a rabbit style pump mount as I have  fox style with no motor mount.
I will probably have to replace the front jack shaft bearing the thrust washer on the shaft broke off and the fracture got into the bearing and tore it up. I need the coolant fitting on the back of the head.
I would like a full timing cover set, possibly rabbit, possibly fox (or both, I dont know what I am putting this into yet)

I will also need some assembly parts like bearings and gaskets. I currently have a rothen crapper timing belt that is NEW and a tentioner, I might put a few miles on them, but wont trust my fresh engine to survive with them. OH need a vacuum pump hold down piece. need ONE headbolt and Im pretty darn sure its a 12mm (are those stretch bolts on the mech lifter heads?)  I would like a rear main seal housing as mine has a stripped pan bolt hole, would also like a spare pan bolt, and one cam cap nut. (I like factory hardware)

I am currently looking at an 89 golf gasser, complete but not running right, I dont know what all of parts I can nab from that engine, and what all I need to make mine fit. I dont care about POWER. ALL I am looking for is absolute mileage. also, the trans in the gasser, guessing 020? will it have a different final drive ratio? I do most driving around town but want to be able to cruise at 70mph for quick trips.

any info would be appriciated too. I currently have a home made adapter to bolt the vw to a toyota 22r type trans.

I would really like to get it running and right. maybe you have a set of good head studs for sale? Im interested in small upgrade parts, I am running a N/A block. what sucks is, heads in good shape and has been rebuilt, someone decided to take a tig welder to a casting spider on the front of the engine, blocks in good shape, one size over stock with a SMALL ridge at the top. also need help building a pop tester for my injectors  (I have three spare hardlines, can I just use my IP pump and a gauge?)

I know there is a lot of stuff in this listing that belongs somewhere else, but I want the person selling me parts knowing where I am at on the project.
