Ok, well that is why I was asking, I don't have one here to check specs of so until I can get info on specs of parts I am just looking. Like I said it is just for fun. So, if I come up with something that will work then great, if not then ok too. Any one have specs on the 2.0 tdi bore and stroke? Or maybe a set of pistons for a 2.0 tdi they don't need anymore.
Thanks, Tim
they won't work, too. the have e large omega-style hole in the middle to squish the air/diesel mixture. the CR would be ~17:1
if you have a g60 block then it has 81mm bore. i'm waiting for my flat 81mm pistons, that would give me 1.8l
if you want more try to get a set of 9A pistons with the corresponding crankshaft. CR can be adjusted up to 22:1 and that stuff should handle the expectable power
I would have to say that "custom" is about your only option. Maybey oversize 1.9TD pistons??

is that related to me? if so, the pistons are from a gasser
sorry no that was to Diesel Tim, as he was looking at using V10TDI piston's.
End Highjack
i think the only place you could find v10 tdi pistons would be the dealer  but it would be interesting you would have to for sure make or get custom rods. Im sure it wouldnt be hard to find someone to custom make stuff for you. The only thing is when you start going full blown custom like you want to do it starts costing big dollars for something that might not be worth it. Just my two cents. I just think if you have a light car you can make it dam fast just using a 1.6 or a 1.9 worked over.

its a cool idea but as soon as you need custom pistons/rods like jeff said, it sort of kills the whole "cheap project for fun" aspect. i'd like to see you make it work... know any machinists??
Well, yes I can do some machine work but, if I can find some pistons that are 4th over (1mm over) for a TDI then maybe I can still do this without having to spend much time on the lathe or mill.
