wheel fit

I found a set of these from a Jetta, they are 14" with an et45. If I understand the offset correctly the 45 will sit further inside the wheel well than an et38? Would that be a problem? They are only about 1/2" or less difference, right?
Oh, and these would be going on an 82 Rabbit. I'd rather have a set of snow flakes but these are cheap.

How wide are they? The difference in et is 7mm right? So just over 1/4" you should have that much clearance but it'll depend on the width of the wheel and tire. What size tires are you running?

All i can really add - is they are Mk3 Jetta wheels.
My friends 98 TDI has them.
I'd buy them if cheap cheap - for a Mk2 Jet
Wonder if they have the centers too ?

They are 6" wide. I would think with them sitting further inside the fender would help with tire rub somewhat.
I think I can get them for $100, with one missing center cap.
They should be ok on the 82 rabbit?
Looking at the tire sizes, I am now running 155/80/13 . That tire beside a 185/60/14 is about the same size. Would this be a good size for the 14" rims?

that is as big as i would run.. the 185/60/14
if you are stock height, they should be fine. if you are lowered, or have any big bumps that you hit, they will probably rub..

I think they are 1 center cap short of being a $75 set of wheels.
You really need a wheel that has some inset sections that can be made dark colored (charcoal / black)
Flakes, Tdrops, Pslots
If you're going more for fuel economy - than sporty handling/looks - i'd go with 185/70/14 tires
How clean and complete were the Tdrops you found ?
How much were they ?

You wanna trade a set of those snowflakes for a set of nice teardrops? I just don't like the looks of them, look like a big ole hub cap. Maybe if I could see them on a rabbit it would change my mind.
I just did a search and found a rabbit with them on it. Didn't like it at all.

hmm
I'd have to have some boot money with the Tdrops.
They aren't quite as popular as Flakes and don't bring as much coin.
A lot of folks feel about like you do.
I wouldn't mind a set just for another dose of variety.
All the Tdrops i find are not very clean, and missing some/all caps.
Now if you find Pslots - i'd trade for those.
They don't really look the hottest - just wild sorta, and unusual.

What are Pslots? Remember, this is all new to me. The only VWs I have owned and messed with where Vanagons and a Syncro. And the sad part, I sold them all years ago and miss the hell out of them.
You also have a PM, read it as its got a link for you

Pslots are funny.
Think of a teardrop - but where the teardrops are,
they have P shaped cut-outs.
They came on Pirelli Edition Jetta's - and maybe some others - idunno
Had pix of some - but they are trapped on the old broken desktop.

I know exactly what you are talking about now. I saw some somewhere when I was looking up other rims. They weren't for sale just pics of them

This is how ET45 looks on a MK2

I had 195/55-15 on this, and it looked horrible.

you could always add some 10mm spacers to bring them out.. but i think they kinda ugly.. same token i hate snowflakes too.. LOL..
next i hate caps that hide the lug holes... including bbs $$$$$$$$ wheels... if it going to look like a big nut in middle it better be real IMO
so my opinion.. get what you can afford... by the time you hit a few pot holes, curbs, deal with local leving it on blocks for you.. just not worth lots of coin on a dd..
