just picked up an 86 Jetta TD and the exhaust system is rotted. anyone have a performance downpipe for one of these cars they want to sell? going to use the car to tow a utility trailer so I'd like a 2.25 or 2.5 inch system. if I can't find a used one I'll have to go to TT.

mk1 will not fit a mk2... just a fyi...

I have a jig made for MK1 2.5" downpipes. I would have to buy the material and weld it up, but I think it would work for you in your mk2. I know the mk2 doesn't go the other way.If not before I redo my mk2 engine I will make a jig off of my 3" DP I have in it so I can duplicate it. At least that is the plan.
till you decide on turbo andy.. no that will not work... different turbos = different lengths and such.. different flanges too..
Find a manifold and turbo, and then use a mk3 pipe. they fit and are much better flow. Cheap too if you can find a wrecked car.
