Pop testing tdi injectors after nozzle swap?

Do any of you folks do any additional testing on the tdi injectors after swapping nozzles? I have read elsewhere about all the potential issues and status quo threads on that other site. In the past i haven't bothered and had great success, up till the last set. Now i am skeptical. I know being two stage our standard pop tester isn't really able to do both stages but is the second stage super critical? or is it even directly tied to the first so if i get first stage on so should second? If the pop pressure is relatively close and the nozzles the same size shouldn't the volume be the same, what is there to balance? The cost for some of the tdi big guys to test and balance them is more than i am willing to spend right now (45 each and up 100 each highest i saw). My last set was a horrible experience its actually the most expensive nozzles i have ever bought(bosio's) and it runs horribly, starts bad, and clatters even throws a code for misfire on no 4! They sit on shelf while i am back to running some old used ones.

Which Bosio did you buy and from who? I have a set of BSLA 150 P520 from Kerma. Have'nt installed them yet, debating which car. I also wonder about the"balancing".

Which Bosio did you buy and from who? I have a set of BSLA 150 P520 from Kerma. Have'nt installed them yet, debating which car. I also wonder about the"balancing".

I bought them from an individual who bought them from kerma and ended up selling his TDi before using them. He is trusted and i am nearly certain they are authentic nozzles. Its likely not the nozzles fault as much as probably something i did different this time that i didn't do previously.Possibly something even in another component caused it, as i did a pump seal and new filter at the same time! BaronVZ thanks for the heads up on bosch over in GSO, never knew they were there. I saw a bosch place down on 70 in garner but it seems there is never anyone there when i go by there!

I dont mean to hijack the thread, but I have a simple question that hopefully has a simple answer. Tdi Injectors are two stage meaning that they pop off at two set points? For an M-TDI, can this be overlooked and can they be set with a homemade pop tester for the correct bar and a single ignition?

I was waiting to cross the shim bridge till i saw pressures that were off. I know everyone says they will be off with old springs and such but I am hard nosed and like to see for myself, usually it ends up being a lesson learned!
Whoabeats- i would think IF the two stage testing is important for tdi it would be for mtdi since the injector is still the same, even in an etdi the computer cannot directly change the injection pressure. I just have yet to be convinced that the second pressure is not tied directly to the 1st.
Hey for 17grand we can score the latest bosch tester and share it, who's in?

I saw a vid on Utube, guy used a n/a pump and put a hand crank on the sprocket. Had a injector on one inj. line Pretty neat!
