  Just found this link last night thought I might share it

  Try the CE1 page, as this is Mk3 stuff

• CE2 also applies to the MK2 or A2. Mid 90 and on I think.

• Towards the end of 88 production - or beginning of 89 production - they switched to CE2.
  
  All 4 89 Diesel Jettas i service have CE2.
