Another non-start thread, no fuel in injector return lines

Hi all, I've read many of the no start threads and have done most of what was suggested. Engine did run in the rabbit where it came from. This is what I have done:

new timing belt, checked timing many times, set at .95 (and other settings as well)
new injectors via Giles
fuel supplied via jug and lift pump thru clear lines, no air bubbles
stop solenoid checked and hot wired just to make sure
glow plugs work, hot wired for long glow, does spin easier/faster with those on
fuel at injector connection
did start for about 5 secs, ran smoothly but kinda hard to tell for short period.
new battery and being charged off running vehicle so spins fast
did a basic reseal on pump
NO fuel in injector return lines, pulled them off and it was dry inside the nipples and when cranked over with one detached there was no flow.

Is it possible that an old IP can't generate enough pressure to pop the new injectors but was able to pop the old injectors? Engine mileage unknown.

Something like me,but I found that MAIN prob is return from injectors to OUT bolt,of corse I found that just before winter so I rerute from OUT to closed loop (my 2T) and from injectors go to tank.(not to OUT BOLT).
I turn off "smoke bolt" but I can get only 20 ml fuel for 100 km drive from injectors but NO MORE AIR,I think that set up will stay forever.Hope that help like me for 500 km.

A few things unclear to me in reading.

are you running an electric fuel pump from filter to Inj Pump ?
and is the (clear) return going back to the jug ?

=I'll just say what you need to do at beginning is fill the Inj Pump.
Then fully prime it with a MityVac from the return line until you get solid fuel.

If you're doing that with an electric push pump - thats fine.

=Next things in question are from your reseal job.

Did you properly mark and notate (or photo) the orientation of the slot in the end of the throttle shaft - to the markings on the throttle arm ?

Did you take count on rotations of the idle stop bolt if it was removed ?
And put it back accordingly - or even faster setting for good measure.

Did you run the fuel screw/smoke screw inwards until stopped - taking count of rotations until it bottomed. Before removing it - And then return it to that same setting when re-assembled.

=You can MityVac the last nipple on #1 injector and pull fuel through all those jumpers - if you want to.

It sounds like you either have the idle too low - the fuel limit screw adjusted too lean - or the throttle arm index is wrong.

99.09 % that is not your problem.
And about same % of it not being issue on any previously known running Inj Pump.

Did you mess with the internal pressure regulator?

Is the max fuel screw out too far?

I have an elec lift pump pushing fuel thru the pump with clear lines going from hard line - filter - pump and then back via the return to the hard line. There is good flow coming out of the return.

Yesterday I did disassemble the IP to double check everything, somehow I messed up the little oring that keeps fuel out of the aneroid area, actually found a new viton one at autozone. Everything else looked correct yet it seems to be working better, put it back in and have a good "pop" of fuel at each injector and there is now fuel in the return lines.

Idle stop screw I left the nut on it when removed so pretty sure that got reinstalled correctly but I'll turn it in just to make sure.

Same with max fuel, removed but left nut on it for reference so it should be back in the same spot. It still has the metal crimp on it.

I didn't mess with the internal pressure regulator.

I could have the throttle arm misaligned, I took a pic and will double check when I get to the shop.

mtrans: do you have a pic of that setup?

It was the throttle lever, I had it installled about 80* out.
