WTB: '79 Rabbit Parts
« on: February 01, 2012, 08:38:44 pm »
I recently picked up a '79 Rabbit and am working on getting it up to snuff. The local parts availability is non-existent. Here's a list of what I'm currently looking for.

antenna
passenger side front door trim
passenger side rear corner trim
front bumper right side rubber impact strip
dark brown dash in good shape
little shelves for either side of the rear hatch cover
dark brown carpet rear hatch cover

Let me know what you have and how much shipped to 86001. Probably most important is the driver's side window in order to keep weather out. I'm sure I'll think of more as the project gets under way.

I have an 83 rabbit 2 door, if the parts cross over I would sell whatever you need...or trade for some work. I just don't know the compatability of parts from different years. Dash on mine is gone and was blue, everything else I pretty much have.

I have a driver's side door with a window out of an 81 Rabbit 4 dr. if you are interested. I live in S. central WA state so this may play in whether you want it shipped or not.
Let me know. ;)

If you have a 4-door, I might have the body moulding trim pieces.

Libby, I just used some of my extra carpet that I cut for the bottom of the floor and put it on the hatch and those side supports.  I will pop a picture and add later.  Sprayed both the carpet and the clean up tray with contact cement and stuck it on and trimmed it up.

Seems better than new.

Now I just have to be careful with putting oily parts all over it.  Definately crimping my style.
