The car in question only has 197,000 miles on it, but its a newengland car, exposed to many newengland winters. Is it possible to just adjust the slack somehow ?
I gotta somewhat go with rs899 on this one.. There stuff used to be good, but it seems to be pick and choose now.. Even on the exact same item I've gotten good and crap.. AS far as Prothe, I'm gonna side with Burn as well.. As many people that he has "short changed", to put it nicely, there's someone else out there selling cheapo parts that will most likely be more accomedating..

There is adjustment, but I would advise against it.. Typically what happens is that one area of the rack wears more so than the rest, mainly the area around the center.. When you tighten it up, going straight down the road it'll be fine, but it could bind on turns.. And, if the rack itself is slopping about in the housing, no adjustment is going to cure that...
Well I went ahead and bought the meyle rack and complete tierod set from mjm autohaus because I dont plan on replacing the rack for another 200,000 miles.
