randy's ride
« on: January 28, 2012, 03:54:28 pm »
here`s a few photos of my ride.

this is how it was when it came to me two bad front wings, cloth seats and a dash covered in glue after some muppet covered it in pink fur  :'(

i fitted a new dash and whole interior carpets seats and headliner

next on the list was the wheels fancied some snowflakes not seen much on mk2s in the uk.
they started out like this

after a lot sanding came the polishing and more polishing then paint

and on the car

now sat on winter steels with its new gti style grill

Nice ride, I love the four headlights. I have a european golf but it only has two headlights........
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

REPLACE THOSE HUB CAPS!!!

re-using wheel bearing caps is a bad idea, especially when they are as messed up as yours.

taking them off with a screw driver is a BAD IDEA. moisture will get in the bearing from where it is not sealed, and toast the bearing in short order..

(your car is still beautiful, and i was still excited to see that you posted more pics!!!)

WTF?! you got shafted... you should have won.

your car is my favorite one on the entire forum.. i love it that you keep it very factory looking. your car is soo nice, very sharp.

but definitely not a 2nd place car!

in my mind (and probably everyone else on the board) your car is the first place winner, strictly because its a REAL GTD, and VERY WELL preserved at that!

that GTI that won is still a VERY clean car tho. would love to see a few more shots of it as well, if you have any..
