Ok , it's not a diesel, but it's a VW, at least
I imported it from Germany, 2 years ago, but never publish any pictures. The car is sleeping in my garage, waiting to be restored 100% factory. I imported many parts from Germany to restore it, OEM suspension, interior, decalc, engine parts, all the original light ( rear and front ), original tire cover, door handle.. etc.. I spend a lot of money collecting parts from europe. I'll probaly start to restore it this summer.. Here's a few pictures..
That is awesome!!!! That would be a golf country syncro? What year is it?
holy OMFG..
a Golf Country...
well, i know who im most envious of now.. hands down.
i dont even care that its not diesel, its the coolest Golf on the forum!!!
(my jaw kinda hit the floor when i opened this page!)
and Marc, could you do me a HUGE favor, and snap some more shots of the suspension/drivetrain of the car next time you are under it or have it up on the rack? ive always wondered what they had for suspension..

Mine also falled down when I saw the truck with my car on the trailer..!
Basically, it's the same suspension as the Passat syncro with trailing rear arms but it's mount on a tubular subframe. Front and rear shock has been specially made for the country.
here's a few pic of the subframe
Internet explorer...version 9 i think.
try again, should works now.. moderators didn't have the permission to see attachments..
fix now!
Very awesome car, and very rare
no car i own will ever amount to the awesomeness of your country
Man this thing reminds me of the Subaru Justy we used to own about 10 years ago. 1989 with the 4wd option. Only this is a bit bigger and beefier. Very cool, VW could sell tons of these in the states if they wanted to. Just look at those Kias or small SUVs coming round now.
Tell me you made a jig off of that subframe and will be mass producing these for the GTD
Holy Shiz! A real deal Country amongst our ranks! Easily stole the show with that hummble little revealing of yours! I will be looking forward to that build thread!!!
Awesome car!

If there's enough demand, I can built an exact copy of this subframe at my shop.. When my broken
leg will be healed, I can take a look..
About a year ago I found a blog by a guy that was rebuilding a country, was that you? Or have you seen it?
