myke's looked show room stock... but it was a convert.. so yea.. people build them... and when money spent properly. are impressive to see.. but still slow.. LOL..

if you indeed have a vanagon td set up... yes the quantium turbo is direct fit.. now if its some other turbo set up.. no... how bout posting pics of what you have?

i still cannot do a vanagon.. weight too much.. and unimpressed..

there almost 4k lbs, and not 4x4.. and NO POWER..

the coolest vanagon ive ever seen, had a VR6 Turbo in it.. ill try and get pics if you guys are interested..
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

I got the right setup now I just have an issue with the wastegate on the K03.  It was frozen and in the process of freeing it up the shaft that goes thru the body of the turbo to open the wastegate snapped.  Does anyone have a wastegate shaft off an old turbo that they would be willing to sell?

Yes, I do agree that the Vanagon is heavier, and less aerodynamic than the originally intended Rabbit.  But it takes a fundamentally different mindset to operate a diesel Vanagon I have come to realize, one that after years of motorcycles and speeding tickets I have embraced.  It helps not to imagine yourself at the front of any pack, but take comfort in the functionality of my living room on wheels.
