WTB: Mk1/B1 era parts
« on: January 02, 2012, 11:16:42 am »
Hey gang, Im taking over a B1 passat wagon project from a friend who has no desire to finish it and I'm still in need of some parts for it.

As far as I know, I've acquired all the necessary goodies to add turbocharged goodness to it save for a diesel dasher/fox/quantum alternator  mount. Elusive little bugger that one is.

Period correct, or correct looking pyrometer, boost gauge and oil temp gauge. I realize I can get some new vdo ones, but If someones got some kicking around here, I'd rather help a dubber out.

5 speed longitudinal diesel transmission. Found in audi 5000's I believe. I only know of one locally and Im absolutely certain that the gentleman wont part with just the transmission.

Any other cool mk1/b1 accessories/tidbits. Steering wheels, oldschool radios, mudflaps. That sort of thing.

Cheers!

audi 4000...... 5k bell housing all wrong as well its a 5 not a 4.. also you know it is far from a direct fit too right?? the tunnel needs mods to even fit a 5 in the hole of a 4 speed..

you need to go be a member of DOG dasher owners group... been so long i have no idea what its url is.. but they have a few faq on fitting a 5speed in...

as for gauges.. did not have pyro back then.. so id settle on cockpit (sp???) style new ones so they all match.. thats same style as the old style ones with non light up needles an such.. also that pyro from summit racing is the cheapest of then 3 vdo ones they sell..

even if you only buy that one new.. the other used ones will be faded and not look the same..

I've got a spare B2 1.6QTD AC compressor/alternator mount. I think the dasher one was welded, stamped steel. The QTD one is cast iron. I probably have a compressor and alternator too.

PM me if interested.
