FS: Frantz bypass oil filter setup.
« on: December 20, 2011, 06:34:30 pm »
It's history: I bought it used from a dealer over a year ago. Installed it last summer, removed it last summer. So only a few months of use by me. It came with all new lines and seals when I bought it.

The lines are setup to be installed in a rabbit. Oil comes from the oil filter flange and drains into my homemade turbo drain in the pan so the new owner might have to rig up his own drain. The unit was mounted behind the right headlight on the unused washer fluid mount.

The inlet was cracked when I got it because somebody over tightened the fitting, I sent it back since I didn't think I should buy a cracked unit but they just JB welded the fitting and screwed it in, the crack is visible in the picture.

Here's what you get.

I have the mounting bracket somewhere around here but couldn't find it for the picture.

I had no leaks with it during the time I used it. The bottom of the can is slightly dented (some as how I got it) but doesn't effect it at all.

Asking price, $80. Shipping will be 10-15 to the US, not sure about canada. Includes 3 new seals, a new roll of paper, the unused drain fitting, a bunch of instructions and some brass fittings that I didn't use. Hopefully I find the bracket and mounting screws.

Feel free to ask questions.

'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.
