« on: December 20, 2011, 07:57:02 am »
i have old ***ty cracky lines and think i might be getting air leaking in because of this, i was thinking of just going to the hardware store and getting some fresh line material, just wondering what the demensions are as far as ID, and also, whats the best way of securing the lines? hose clamps? or is there better?

Mk1
Mk2?
Mk1 has steel hard lines
Mk2 has vinyl hard lines. The sections of rubber are crimped on
On my car - 1991
I cut the metal crimped bands, pulled off the rubber, slid on new rubber and clamped
The return lines are 1/4"
Supply are 5/16"
Parker push-loc (at a Parker hydraulic hose shop) is available in 1/4,3/8,1/2"
Is good diesel hose
I bought from west marine - 5/16" marine diesel (also called low permeation) for the supplies
You can't use regular gas fuel line from Autoparts store
