« on: December 15, 2011, 03:20:29 pm »
Is this possible? I think all aaz's made are 12mm.

I have blocks for each, just wondering if it'll bolt upto the 11mm block thats in the car.

I think the issue is using an AAZ head as part of a search for more power. 11mm blocks are a source of inherent  weakness.

If your 12mm block is hydraulic, then your AAZ is a direct fit. Otherwise work to do....

all are mechanical, from what I can tell. The one that came in the car is a 12mm, but it's disassembled. The one that's in it now is 11mm from a 79 rabbit.

One block is fully dressed and has lived in a trash bag for years, no idea what it is.

if its an 11mm engine from a 79 rabbit, and its ORIGINAL, then its a 1.5D, and you dont wanna really mess with one of those in the quest for more power..
