Well I have multiple issues and I wanted to cure it with one good fix...Enter 1 G60 valve cover, a 1.8t PCV valve,hose, and tubes rewelded to suit my needs.
The problem: Stamped valvecovers suck. I have a hard horrible luck getting a good bond even with a mk3 rubber gasket (MUCH better). Another issue I was having was leaking oil from the front of the block breather. Because I went vacuum-less(that's another thread) I just had a rubber cap from Advance Auto on there. Well that little boy would usually only go a month or so before it would rupture and spew hot oily goop all over the front of the block.
The final problem was I only had a simple v8 breather on top of the valve cover and I was tired of watching fumes leak out of my hood at lights. I swear I was getting headaches from them.
SO...I wanted to build a PCV system that looked factory and combined the front of the block with the valve cover and sent the fumes into the intake on the way to the turbo much like a factory system would.
Took that idea in my head...and so far I have this:

I really wanna get this thing back together because I need it to do daily status and keep my 79 in the garage.
This is pretty much what the end product will look like.

Looks quite factory! Where did you find the steel tube coming from the front of the block and going to the back of the head? I guess it's steel, I can't really tell.
Any more pics?
Also, what did you do to get the g60 valve cover to play nice with the timing belt cover?

I have a G60 cover on mine, i think it fits better than the flimsy stamped steel ones. There are no issues with a MK2 timing belt cover, Not sure about MK1.
i recommend adding venting to the front block port. i had a car that i was having major blow by issues with(only on the highway for what ever reason) and after adding the vent to the front of the block, and then Teeing it in to the valve cover/intake hose the problem completely went away. vw actually made a kit for doing this.
I took the assembly off of an aaz engine and cut about 1" off the end of the hose. That is how I have mine ran, one to the front of engine and one to the intake.
My G60 cover I did nothing but polish and paint it. Fits fine on MK2 Jetta.
Have you seen the CCV puck they use on the MK3 2.0 engines?
They have 3 ports,.. like the AZZ engines use.
One plugs into the valve cover, one goes to the front of the block, one goes to the intake.
I've used them for the last couple builds but can't find a picture with both hoses connected.
3/4" green silicone heater hose fit well.
