Looking for a crank pulley bolt and thick washer for my 1.6TD
PM me if you have them as well as a price, location
Thinking it is best to use the stock ones, and the dealer says no longer available.
Or if anyone can suggest a proper alternative? Not sure if a grade 8 bolt without shoulder and just a std washer would be a good idea...
Thanks.
Thanks for the tip - I ordered and received my new bolt!
It might be shorter than the original bolt,.. and I don't think the fat washer will work with the 12-point bolt because it is shorter.
Indeed it is shorter, so I machined the washer to be a little thinner...
Anyone have experience running the crank bolt without the thick washer?
That looks like the later-style stretch bolt. I don't believe you're supposed to use a washer with it.
x2. You don't use the washer with that and the torque procedure is different than your old bolt. This is very important.
Thanks for the info all!
Could you outline the procedure?
I have not re-assembled yet.
lightly oil the bolt, install it into the pulley, thread it into the crank nose, tighten to 90 nm and 1/4 turn after that. a friend of mine made me this gizmo to lock up the engine during the final torque. bolt it to the pulley and turn the motor till it hits the ground. make sure you've got the timing belt on tho. :-)
