those of us with the time to mod full time here, may not be suited very well for the job..

Understood..  How about, "the time, energy, and leveled head"..   I know there had been many times I have just about gone off..  Most of the time I try to make a habit of re reading my posts before actually posting..  Probably has saved me a few dozen warnings..  ;D

I think it was Vince that said if your gonna make an angry, hasty post, type it out and read it and then delete it.......I don't think that was word for word.........

I've done it a few times and after thinkin' it over for a day or two (or an hour) you realise that posting would've been foolish.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

Ah, a little bit of rightousness creeping in. I think some of you need to take off your rose tinted specs, 'cause this forum, like just about every other including an epiphylum site I know, has always suffered from occasional abuse. The reason you don't see it because MODs used to freeze threads or edit, or even exterminate them :o Even the 'mature' no frills 'FANS' site has had it's moments... My wife spends much time moderating several ferret forums, for personal abuse or other contraventions.

Let's face it diesel engines are black grubby  things that need a little colour.  More offensive than the distraction of 'he stole my gearbox' is comments like 'being cheap', and 'replace everything or your engine will explode'

One of the main points about these older cars is that the parts respond to being adjusted until truely worn out, and it is the skill of the last remaining craftsmen to do  this. Upgrading parts, for this site's origional aim, or actually this section's aim of GTDishness is naturally excepted.

Back to the abuse thing, even "He who shall not be named," several times had comments 'modded' and removed over the years, not that there is any trace of that after his ultimate act of selfishness. Members with differing views to the mainstream shoud be able to put their 'reasoned' case and have it analysed.
Just about all progress everywhere in the world including at VW, starts out with a singular differing view.
Argueing a point can actually help clarify for both sides.

Finally, one of the most anoying for me is when a newcomer introduces himself  with  "Hey you I have a problem", or other similar demanding crap...
