I'd like to see everyone who has a very good understanding of turbos and compressor maps to chime in on this. It appears to be used on porsches, i'm guessing on a twin turbo setup, and that is very important, and heres why:
on the 1.6l engines, they need a *** load of boost, at a relatively low flow rate, most turbos will either surge at these parameters, or they will be inefficient. this on an engine tryin to make over 150-160hp, below that there are many great turbo options
now on a twin turbo setup, the turbos must put out the same amount of pressure(boost), but they put out half of the flow, so in general they are a low flow high boost turbo, just what we need!!
in the past i have over looked this little beauty because it was on the squirrel performance turbo calculator, but as u can see the left vertical axis on the compressor map is not linear with its numbers, i guess the people at squirrel didn't realize this because it plots the pr wrong on their website. so here it is a turbo thats good for 30-35psi and 200-250 crank hp, with no concerns over surging or inefficiency.
the only thing to be concerned over is the exhaust side of the turbo, which i haven't even looked at
