Coolant Temperature Sensor

OK, I know this site is geared to upgrades, but you guys know your stuff overall.  Before I can upgrade this thing I need to get it up to par.  Does anyone know the layout for the Coolant Temperature Sensor / Swith in the Radiator?  The reason I ask is that the fan is manually hooked up to a switch in the car.  The previous owner had the car overhear and cracked the head and when he replaced the engine he couldn't et the fan to work so he hooked it up manually.  I would like to know what is power in and power out on the three pronged sensor in the radiator.  I can test it with my ohm meter and/or a test light if I know where to feed in some power and ceck for the output.  I don't know if the rest of the system is intact so if I make sure that this works or replace it I will get a heavy duty relay and make a new basic circuit to control it with the manual switch as a back up.  Once I figure this out I can turn up the pump a little bit  8)   Thanks in advance, Chris
