FS: 01 tdi enigne long block
« on: October 20, 2011, 09:14:13 pm »
friend had his timing belt changed and the shop didn't replace the motor mount  bolts when they changed it.. 200 miles later the bolts broke. engine ended up resting on the cover and he shut it off.. he got it towed back to the shop and they found the broken bolt. he had thought it had broken the engine so he bought a used one with 100,000 on it. i'm selling his old one for him. it has 160,000 on it. with the timing belt and water pump normally done.. guy before him always used mobile 1 oil in it. he paid $2,000 for the used engine. shop covered the instal but said he was driving hard so it was his fault it broke. he would like $1,000 for the engine that came out. basically a long block. valve cover to oil pan. i'll send pics if you email me. [email protected] engine is located in Indiana by muncie. can meet up if you cant make it all the way if the price is right. if any ?'s my phone number is 7656615628 send a text or call. thanks

It's a good price for the motor, GLWS,

You Gus get the broken bolts out of the block? I had a motor at home that the same thing happened and we managed to extracte the broken bolts

And there's nothing else really wrong with the motor? I'd definitely be interested in seeing some pics--I'll send you an email.
