The valve cover breather is vented back into the pre turbo intake tube and the block vent is pointed to the ground with no obstructions.
Yea I've been chasing this problem for awhile now.... I already had a hole in my pan for the turbo i had before this one and it was toward the trans end of the rear of the pan and the only thing i can figure is is that the slight bend that the drain makes and then goes into the 90* an fitting that threads into the 10- an bung that i welded tight to the pan which is at a slight angle as well (due to the engines normal orientation) . but I'd have to get another pan or grind off the bung and weld the hole shut and move it to directly below the turbo. then the piece of braided line would only be like two inches long and would be a pain to thread on and off
So in AN world the -XX number denotes the number of 1/16ths that it describes. so in this case -10an is 5/8ths inside diameter
i would send it back, and have them re-rebuild it.. my turbo is unknown condition/miles and still doesnt blow oil..if the seals are NOT SEALING, then its not right..
My vnt drain goes to the normal MK2 drain that the pan had. I used the top steel section from the VNT and the bottom steel section from the old T3 with a peice of silicon hose between. I thing the original VNT outlet is only 1/2" so I can't see yours being a problem (size wise). I read through and I don't see if your checking how much oil your loosing? I've had a pipe blow off mine as well and it doesn't take much diesel oil to make a mess. I've added a mann filter to my system and it's keeping the intake clean, but doesn't pull off as much oil as I thought it would. After about 1000mi I maybe had 100ml it pulled out. With my car it's only pulling from the valve cover like VW intended. I have major problems with the block vent I tried a couple times and that was the big problem for me. It was dumping 100ml plus each 30mi drive or so. I plugged it and added the mann filter to the valve cover vent and not had problems since. However, my vent lines are 1" in diameter running to the mann filter and back into the intake. My $.02
