Can an injector get to tappin?

My car has quite a tick that comes and goes. I changed the oil, checjed/adjusted the valves.. Still it ticks.
Then it goes away.
Is one of my injectors makin a bunch of racket?

Could be, but an injector usually makes a pretty loud clack and an increase in smoke too.

 Hard to find an intermitant sound.
 You can open injectors when you hear it and see what cylinder it is.
 I think and injector can tick like a lifter,.. could probably do it if the breaking pressure was lower than the others by enough,.. same sound as having the timing too advanced.

Hmm I think you are in to somethin. I added Lucas fuel additive and it went away
