1.6 td GT15 Question
« on: September 16, 2011, 04:54:01 am »
Hi!

I've got GT15 of a 1.9 td AAZ and I want it to put it on to my 1.6td, question is about wastegate actuator, it has two inlets, one is for boost coming from compressor and one for vacuum. Can I leave vacuum's inlet not connected(bleeding some pressure to air from actuator) and just connect boost inlet?? If I block vacuum's inlet wastegate kind of not want to work.

sure its not a K03?

i didnt think the GT15 came till the TDI engine?

dont connect anything to the vacuum side.. leave it open to the atmosphere.

it was just to limit the boost below the wastegate settings.. emissions junk!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

At first I thought it was K03, but then I red the green plate on compressor's housing and it says it's GT15.
But when I try to blow some air trough actuator it comes out where vacuum should be connected is it normal or actuator is leaking?

Okay I will left vacuum side not connected and give it a try!

Thanks!

nope, that means the diaphgram is ripped inside the actuator. or else it has 2 pressure feeds, witch would be weird..

plug one side of the wastegate can, and see if it will operate the WG..
