VW trucks in brazil

i have a brother in Brazil right now, works for Ford. One of his houseguests posted these to facebook....

they have vw fox trucks too... one of them forsale on whoretex in mk1 section listed as a 2007 caddy..

They have those in Mexico too. They are built in Brazil. You will never see them sold in the U.S. because of the "chicken tax" among other reasons.

They are pieces of crap IMO. Brazilian built VWs seem to have a poor reputation in Mexico, I don't know how much of that is truth and how much is "we lost to Brazil in futbol."  I have never seen examples more than a few years old down there. The interiors are tacky and it's just a very spartan vehicle, kind of like a Caddy I guess. I think some of them have no heater or A/C which must suck in Brazil. 

They also have the Amarok which is built in Argentina. It's more of a fullsize truck and comes with a TDI and a 6 speed. They're kind of cool. I'm not sure how reliable they are.
