what do the stamped numbers on lda pins mean?
« on: September 02, 2011, 01:50:37 pm »
Sorry I couldn't find anything searching.  I was just using some parts to put together one good pump on my 1.6td and found a different number stamped on each pin and it made me wonder if there was some "better" option.

I can't answer that but apparently there are two different diameter pins depending how new your pump is. The older ones have 11mm (this is the only one I've personally seen) the later ones have 12mm as do the cummins ve pumps.
If it were me I would measure the deepest part of the cone on each and if there is a difference use the deeper one. The deeper cone will give you more potential fueling capabilities but of course it all depends on the setup of your engine etc...
Let us know what you find too.
